KingOfAutomotiveNews - Tokyo - Honda is rumored to be making a breakthrough in the technology of power transfer alias transmission. Even the Japanese auto giant has been filed for a patent on the new technology.
Patents for the brand-new gearbox has been submitted Honda to the Japan Patent Office, as reported roadandtrack. The surprise of this Honda clutch concoction is the amount of acceleration that reaches 11 and is supported by three clutch.
In his explanation, Honda said that by using the third clutch will reduce torque loss during tooth movement which is common in dual clutch transmission.
Honda also said it will make the new transmission gearshift change becomes much smoother and the engine response will increase.
But Honda has not said what type of vehicle will adopt 11-speed transmission it. But clearly this new gearbox can improve fuel efficiency.
In the patent filing document dated May 27, 2016 it was registered in the name of Honda Motor Co. Ltd. and the inventor of the technology is Masao Izumi.
